For starters, there shouldn’t be anyone holding an axe in one hand and…
lord knows what else in the other hand, as their friend is next to them, suggestively bending over into a tent… all while there are some funky red mushrooms growing close by. Well, the mushrooms ahh… may be… just keep
some people away from them for everybody’s safety.

But anyway, Camping  on Peace River is on again this year.

The DATES: Friday November 27th – Sunday November 29th
Departure time at Canoe Outpost: 7AM SHARP!!!!!!
* Not latin time! We are looking to leave Miami at 2:00 AM trip is about 4
hr let’s give an hour for any event.

THE REQUIREMENTS

Get your camping gear ready…
RSVP as soon as possible dead line to confirm is NOVEMBER 2. I would
appreciate if you can confirm before
$105.00 per canoe and $40.00 per kayak for single riders.

Additional rental not mandatory but recommended

We’ll probably do the same paddle as last year, as well as have them carry
our gear to a designated spot, so our canoes are freed up.

Please note, we  are only a few weeks away and still need to make reservations since busy  season starts in November.  We need a confirmation and head count by soon as possible.

3.	Merge onto I-75 N via the ramp to Naples		9.5 mi
4.	Take the exit on the left onto I-75 N toward Naples Partial toll road		147 mi
5.	Take exit 164 toward Arcadia		0.6 mi
6.	Merge onto Duncan Rd/US-17 Continue to follow Duncan Rd		8.4 mi
7.	Continue on SR-17		13.5 mi

• Water – 1 gallon per person, per day (very important)
  
• Cooler with ice

• Food and Snacks for 3 days (Marshmallows  & Cocoa)
• Cookware – Frying Pan, Can Opener/Bottle Opener (we always have to invent this one. If you bring cans, please bring an opener)
• Plates and Utensils
• Grill top to cook on the fire
• Axe and Shovel (To bury poop, yes people there are no bathrooms out there, unless we get a porta potty again!)
  
• Stove, gas grill, BBQ grill (Don’t forget Matches or Lighter, Charcoal, Propane tank)
• Lantern
• Flashlight and extra batteries
• Tent with tarp (Tarp is needed for under your tent to avoid the dew from seeping into your tent. No one wants to wake up wet!)
  
• Sleeping Bag or Air Mattress
  
• Dish Detergent – Brillo Pads are great!
• Towels
• Bathing Suits (Replace Bathing Suits w/ Jacket if it is cold)
  
• Aqua Socks or old shoes ( Sharp objects can be found in the river)
• Clothing for 4 days (bring extra in case you get wet)
  
• Garbage Bags for trash and storing (Also, you should place your bag with your clothing in a garbage bag to avoid any water getting in. It happens every year!)
  
• Label all camping gear with name in case of loss
• Sunscreen and Lip Balm (Even in cold weather you can get a pretty bad sunburn, so don’t forget to wear your sunscreen)
  
• Hat or Visor
• Sunglasses with strap
• Camera
• Fishing Pole and Bait (Need fresh water fishing license)
• First Aid Kit and Mobile Phone (if available)
• Toothpaste and Toothbrush
• Car Keys (Best to leave in our office or secure in your canoe)
• Rope or string to tie gear into canoe
• Mosquito Repellent or Coil
• Watch or Clock
• Games (Cards, Football, Frisbee, Fossil Sifter)
• Camping Chairs
• Toilet Paper and Baby Wipes (essential for clean fresh feeling! Yes people, there is no shower either, so after day 2, you start getting a little stinky)
• Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.)
• Poncho (in case it rains)
• Blankets, pillows
• Any other McGyver type gadgets that might come in handy (Saw for firewood, axe, etc.)

7th Annual Miami Crew Peace River Camping Trip

(a.k.a. The Church Group)

December 12th, 13th, 14th

TIME

The times of canoe departure are 8.30 AM and 10 AM – we always go on the 8:30 Bus so we need to be in Arcadia at 8 AM.
Meet on the night of Thursday, its about a 4hr drive to Peace River.

(Canoe Outpost Peace River) for information.  We’ll probably do the same paddle as last year (about 12 miles),
as well as have them carry our gear to a designated spot, so our canoes are freed up.

*Gardner to Arcadia/Oak Hill (16 miles): Check-in and park in Arcadia. We take you upriver by bus to
Gardner and you paddle downstream to Canoe Outpost-Oak Hill (11 miles downstream) to make camp at a reserved site.
Next day paddle downstream to Arcadia (5 miles), back to vehicles in Arcadia. We can guarantee a campsite as long
as supply lasts. We can deliver your camping gear to your site or you take it with you, call for details. This is the standard 16 mile day run.

We need to have a minimum of 10 CANOES to get the best deal for our money.
So Thats 20 People.

Here how it’s works:

• Less than 10 canoes $105 per canoe for 2 nights + $5 per gear transport
• 10 canoes or more $85 per canoe $0 gear transport
• $25 per 3rd passenger in the canoe.

* Bring extra cash just in case!

We need a confirmation and head count by October 24th.
Anyone who has not confirmed by then, will have to make their own arrangements.
